Redefining Pediatric Cancer Care Through Research
At Nemours Children’s, cancer research goes beyond treatment. We strive to find safer, more personalized ways to care for children at every stage. Our work focuses on long-term effects and innovative therapies that give families better options and more hope.
We lead studies that help shape national treatment guidelines and bring clinical trials into the communities we serve. Every study is designed to move discoveries forward and improve both survival and quality of life.
Key Areas of ResearchÌý

Leukemia & Blood Cancers |ÌýStudying the biology of pediatric leukemias and refining treatments that target cancer cells while protecting healthy ones.
Solid Tumors |ÌýAdvancing research on sarcomas, brain tumors, and other rare cancers with a focus on early detection and improved survival.
Survivorship & Late Effects |ÌýExploring how cancer treatment affects long-term health, and developing strategies to protect the heart, brain, and body after treatment.
Living With a Diagnosis |ÌýStudying how a cancer diagnosis affects mental health, family stress, and daily life, and developing tools to support resilience and emotional well-being during care.
Clinical Trials & Research Studies
Our oncology team leads and contributes to clinical trials that improve how childhood cancer is diagnosed, treated, and managed over time. We work with families to test promising new therapies, from immunotherapy and targeted treatments to approaches that reduce side effects.
In addition to COG and NCORP, we’re part of many other national research efforts like the Pediatric Transplant and Cellular Therapy Consortium (PTCTC) and the Sunshine Project, which funds innovative studies for rare pediatric cancers. These partnerships help us bring new therapies to more families, faster, and ensure our research reflects the real-world needs of the children we serve.
