Get to Know Me

I divide my time between caring for children and their families with rheumatic diseases and conducting research. I am passionate about finding answers for the underlying causes for juvenile idiopathic arthritis and running a translational rheumatology research lab, studying samples from our own patients.

Why I Treat Children

I knew I wanted to be a doctor at 7 years old. When I was in medical school, I felt at home in all the pediatric rotations, but I especially found lupus and other autoimmune diseases, where the body is attacking itself, fascinating.

What I'm Passionate About

I'm passionate about working with families to make sure I make their healthcare journey as positive as it can be.

How I Try to Make A Difference

I do all I can to train the next generation of pediatric rheumatologists so they can continue to help children and families with rheumatic diseases.

Research Activities

I am the Principal Investigator of the Translational Rheumatology Research Laboratory, with our studies focusing on the cells that line the joint, the synovial fibroblasts, and their role in inflammatory arthritis.
